cycle 2: colossal fail

i wasn't trying to be sneaky...was just trying to save myself of too many knowing my disappointment so soon...

11.9.09 - cd3 bloodwork and ultrasound - 9:45 a.m.

ultrasound is all clear - no cysts!; bloodwork is great - fsh = 8.46, estrodial = 34

...and we're off!

11.10.09 - meds ordered

2-300 iu vials follistim for follistim pen; 1 vial HCG and needles; 2 boxes progesterone suppositories
...here we go again!

11.16.09 - cd10 bloodwork, ultrasound, follicle check - 7:30 a.m.

ultrasound shows 1-11 mm follicle; bloodwork is great - estrodial = 110

...headed in the right direction!

11.18.09 - cd12 bloodwork, ultrasound, follicle check - 7:45 a.m.

ultrasound shows 1-14 mm follicle AND 1-12 mm follicle; bloodwork - the good: estrodial = 200; the bad: lh trying to surge, up to 28 (means my body is trying to ovulate on it's own...too early - follicles aren't mature yet). meds upped to try to get the follicles to grow faster and extra shot of antigon ordered to stop lh from rising/surging

150 iu follistim; 0.5 ml antigon

11.19.09 - cd13 bloodwork, ultrasound, follicle check - 7:45 a.m.

ultrasound shows 1-15 mm follicle and 1-12 mm follicle; bloodwork - the ok: estrodial dropped to 165 (but was expected to because of the antigon shot); the good: lh down to 10.1...didn't surge!

150 iu follistim; 0.5 ml antigon

11.20.09 - cd14 bloodwork, ultrasound, follicle check - 7:45 a.m.

ultrasound shows 1-19 mm follicle (dr. wants at least a 17!) and 1-14 mm follicle; bloodwork - the good: estrogen up to 220! the bad: lh is on the rise...no more follistim, hcg trigger shot tonight!!!

11.23.09 - start progesterone suppositories pm, continue am/pm from there out until pregnancy/no pregnancy is confirmed

11.30.09 - bloodwork to check estrodial and progesterone levels


bloodwork shows low estrogen at 74 (re likes to see over 100); progesterone at 13.2 (this is good)...heading into the re office tonight for booster shot of hcg to get ovaries working...hoping it's not too late...beta (ha!) moved from 12/7 to 12/9.

12.04.09 - began testing booster shot out of system = faint positive on hpt

12.05.09 - negative on hpt - booster below detectable range on hpt, no pg; began spotting

12.06.09 - negative on hpt - booster below detectable range on hpt, no pg; spotting continues

12.07.09 - went in for originally schedule beta (which was rescheduled for 12.09)...why put off the inevitable; beta result = negative


we are done for 2009. sitting out december and won't even go for monitoring because of the holidays. dr. p called in a new script of zoloft for me and i'm calling my family doc for some xanax too...i can't even make it through church without losing it. wishing i could lock myself in my room until after the new year.

i am lucky to have a smiling little man (and a big one too) that greets me with a hug and kiss every morning and i know that and that's what will get me through this holiday...it's gonna stink, but i'll manage.
